What is Tottenham kickabout?

A fun and friendly meetup to play 5-a-side football. No leagues, refs, or slide tackles.

How good do I have to be?

It doesn't matter if you've never played before! Please come along and join in whatever your skill level. If teams are unbalanced, we switch them up.

Is it men-only?

It's for everyone!

What should I bring?

Nothing! We provide the pitch, ball and clean bibs. Wear whatever you like (but ideally a dark color so the bibs work). Boots and shin pads optional.

Where do we play?

Down Lane Park, London, N17 9AU. See Google Maps.

If you're curious, come and say hello at the end of any game! 👋

When do we play?

On Sundays, 10am til noon. We take a 5-minute break once an hour. Please arrive 5 minutes early.

What does it cost?

Usually £2 per game. (If a game's cancelled, you get a full refund.)

Can I just play one half?

Yes. We will re-balance teams to accommodate.

Can I just watch?

Yes! Come and watch us play (badly), and say hello if you want!

Is the game on? How will I find out?

Check the WhatsApp group and on the FootyAddicts game. But we rarely cancel! We play in any weather.

How large are the teams?

We aim for 6-a-side. If we don't get the numbers for 5-a-side, we cancel the game, but this rarely happens.

What is Kickabout?

During the pandemic, Rich convinced a few people on Facebook to kick a ball about in Bruce Castle Park. It was a hit! We discovered there are lots of people eager to play a casual game of football, but who are put off by the competitiveness of leagues. We kept playing on Sundays, and started expanding across the UK.

What makes Kickabout different?

Try searching for “play 5-a-side near me”. Everything is leagues with permanent teams. You're supposed to find a team, then convince them you're good enough to join. They play Serious Football with kits and refs. Kickabout is different! We play for friendship and fitness. Each Kickabout is a weekly meetup. No permanent teams: we arrange teams on the day and mix them up for fairness. No kits, just bibs (freshly washed each time, we're not animals!). And no refs, because we're all adults.
